A Proud Heritage Behind the Name “Douglas”

The name Douglas carries a long and respected legacy in industry and innovation — from the Douglas Aircraft Company, creators of aviation icons like the DC-10, to Douglas Motorcycles, renowned for their horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engines that powered through both World Wars. Even the Douglas fir, one of the world’s most important timber trees, represents strength, resilience, and quality — values that continue to inspire us today.

Our Story

With more than 30 years of experience in aviation, Douglas Revill — Owner and Director of Douglas Machinery — made the exciting transition to small business ownership in 2021. What began as Revit Mechanical, later evolved into Northern Mowers & Ag, and has proudly grown into Douglas Machinery as we know it today. 

Douglas’s passion for machinery started early in life, growing up on a commercial orchard on New Zealand’s South Island, surrounded by tractors and agricultural equipment. This lifelong connection to the land and machinery inspired the creation of a workshop dedicated to quality, reliability, and community service.

Our Home in Whittlesea

Based in Whittlesea, Victoria, Douglas Machinery proudly services the local community and surrounding areas. Our workshop, located at 34 Beech Street, has a rich industrial heritage — originally built by Godings in 1981 and long known as a centre for fabrication, welding, and tractor sales. We’re proud to carry forward this tradition, continuing to provide exceptional workmanship and service to every customer who walks through our doors.

In 2025, we are proud to announce our partnership with STIHL, marking an exciting new chapter for our business. As a family-owned company, we’re committed to showcasing the outstanding quality and reliability of STIHL power tools and products, alongside our other trusted brands including Kioti Tractors, Bad Boy Mowers and Cub Cadet.
