Terms & Conditions
Douglas Machinery – Terms & Conditions of Sale, Shipping, and Website Use
1. Shipping & Freight Policy
Douglas Machinery primarily utilizes Australia Post as its principal freight service for shipping most items. While certain couriers may be available for selection at checkout, Douglas Machinery reserves the right to revert to Australia Post as the preferred logistics provider at its sole discretion.
1.1 Freight Calculation & TBC Items
For larger or bulkier items, the shopping cart may display the shipping cost as “TBC” (To Be Confirmed). In such cases:
- Customers are encouraged to complete the transaction.
- A shipping quote will be provided within 24–48 hours.
- Should the customer find the quoted shipping cost unsatisfactory, a full refund will be issued promptly upon request.
- Alternatively, customers may contact Douglas Machinery directly prior to checkout to request a shipping estimate.
1.2 Dispatch & Delivery Timeframes
- Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days of payment confirmation.
- Delivery typically occurs within 5–10 business days.
- Delivery timeframes may be extended during public holidays and peak periods (e.g., Christmas) due to postal congestion.
- In the event of unforeseen delays, Douglas Machinery will contact the customer directly to advise.
1.3 Inventory & Availability
- Stock marked as “Available” is drawn from supplier warehouses located in each Australian state and reflects live supplier inventory.
- A 2–3 day processing period is required to draw items from warehouse inventory.
- Discrepancies may occur; if an item is shown as available but is not in stock, Douglas Machinery will:
- Attempt to source an alternative;
- Notify the customer; or
- Offer a full refund.
1.4 Delays & Express Post
- Where feasible, and in cases of delay due to inter-warehouse transfers, items may be sent via express post to ensure timely delivery.
1.5 Honda Parts Disclaimer
- Older or unique Honda parts may be subject to back-order through Honda Australia, leading to extended lead times beyond the standard delivery window.
- Customers will be notified as soon as possible in such circumstances.
1.6 Shipping Fee Adjustments & Cancellations
- Douglas Machinery reserves the right to adjust shipping fees on heavy or oversized Honda products.
- Orders with free shipping may be cancelled and refunded if the cost of shipping exceeds the margin on the item, especially for deliveries to remote or hard-to-reach areas.
